Petra
Petra developed robotic boring machines to go through the most complex geologies — hard rock and soft ground.
With global operations and over 120 employees, the company designed, manufactured, and deployed ultra-heavy (19-tonne) boring machines capable of cutting through some of the hardest geological formations in the world.
My Role
Reported to the CEO and served as her right hand — led day-to-day operations and 0→1 initiatives. My responsibilities included budgeting, strategy, operations, hiring, investor relations.
Key Projects/Results
Series A+ Fundraise: Co-led a $16M Series A+ raise, driving pitch materials, financials, and due diligence.
Manufacturing Plan: Designed and executed a manufacturing/logistics strategy for ultra-heavy tunneling machines.
M&A: Led internal M&A work — surfaced 5 acquisition targets, negotiated with 2, and created full integration plans.
R&D
Construction
$16M Series A+ Fundraise
Problem
Petra needed significant capital to transition from prototype to full production while maintaining investor confidence during operational scaling.
Result
We closed a $16M Series A+ round. I co-led the raise alongside our CEO, driving everything from investor outreach to closing.
Method
I created investor materials, including the pitch deck, pro forma, and data room. I ran all Board meetings and investor updates, and was the primary interface for diligence and negotiations.
Manufacturing + Deployment of 19-Tonne Machines
Problem
Scaling R&D into real-world manufacturing and deployment required a complex logistics plan — especially for equipment weighing nearly 20 tonnes per unit.
Result
Successfully executed a manufacturing and deployment strategy that supported ongoing operations and commercialization.
Method
I led the manufacturing and logistics plan, oversaw our Colombian entity (100 employees), and ensured on-time deployment for 12 units annually, generating $3M/year in revenue.
